Fort Belvoir Commissary

The Fort Belvoir Commissary gave The Jenkins Group a new-construction grocery store on a site master-planned alongside the AAFES Exchange. The firm sited and designed the building for simplified construction phasing and efficient circulation, coordinating soil borings, civil grading, and the full refrigeration and building-systems package.

The project was designed to a LEED NC Silver standard with enhanced commissioning of the HVAC, refrigeration, and domestic hot water systems. The result is an energy-conscious commissary that meets DeCA's proprietary design standards while serving a high-traffic military community near the nation's capital.
